HERE’S THE DIRT
I-90 Speedway wants your family’s visit to the race track to be a fun & entertaining experience. Nothing gets your heart pounding and your adrenaline pumping like dirt track racing at I-90 Speedway! Here’s everything you need to know about our track and facilities.
Race Night: Gates open at 4pm. Racing program starts at 7pm. All racing events are usually complete by 10:30 p.m. Start times for special events may vary and are subject to change.
Track Specs: Track Size 1/3 mile; Turns and Straights 80 feet wide; 22 Degrees banking
Location: Physical address: 46052 Hwy 38, Hartford, SD 57033. Directions: I-90 to Exit 387. 1 mile North, then turn & travel 2.5 miles west on Hwy 38. Track is located 12 miles west of Sioux Falls on I-90.
Pit Facilities: Assigned parking for all classes. Pit area is well lit and has concessions, sound and Porta-Johns available in the pit area. Racing product vendor is available in the pits. No glass is allowed on the grounds. No alcohol is allowed in pit area during the racing event. All minors must have a Minor Release Form completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian at the speedway with a copy of birth certificate or legal document verifying age.
Competing Divisions: On Saturday nights the Paramount Racing Series Divisions include: IMCA RaceSaver Sprint Cars, Late Model Street Stock, USRA B-Modifieds and USRA Hobby Stocks. Check the schedule for dates and divisions racing as they may change from time to time for special events.
For the Kids: Junior Fan Club members are trophy presenters every night at I-90 Speedway. Kids need to sign up upon their arrival at the Logo Stand to be eligible to participate. Events typically begin at 6:30 p.m.
Seating: I-90 Speedway offers a variety of viewing areas for our fans to enjoy the races. General seating is available in the grandstand area, as well as VIP seating in the grandstand tower. Grassy terraces on both ends of the grandstands allows for a comfortable law chair seating. It all provides the most entertaining viewing a fan could ask for! There isn’t a bad seat at I-90 Speedway!
Free Parking: I-90 Speedway always has free parking. We also have ample space for handicap parking located just outside the main grandstand entrance.
Camping: Camping is free! We do not have hookups but welcome all campers.
Coolers: NO coolers, NO food or beverages may be brought into the grandstand area of the I-90 Speedway. Coolers are allowed in the pit area. ABSOLUTELY NO GLASS ALLOWED ON GROUNDS. We sell/rent coolers at the beer stand for a minimal cost.
Restrooms: I-90 Speedway offers full service restrooms. They are located at the main concession stand in the grandstand. There are also Porta-Johns available in the pit area.
Concessions: Whether you just need an ice cold soda or a complete meal of a cheeseburger, fries, nachos, etc. you will find the best food in the short track racing business here. At I-90 Speedway …our food is good, its hot & it is affordable for the entire family!
Beer Garden: Located beside the main concession. Here you will find all your favorite adult beverages. Be ready to show us you’re I.D. if you plan on purchasing our adult beverages, as we do card & record every purchase.
Logo Stand: I-90 Speedway has a souvenir stand located at the main concession building. We offer track souvenirs and huge variety of fun candy for the kids, ear plugs and more.

Where can I purchase tickets?
All tickets can be purchased at the speedway the day of the event. Season passes can be purchased in advance by calling the I-90 Speedway office.
Are pets allowed?
Leashed pets are allowed on the I-90 Speedway property. They must be supervised at all times and you must have and use pet waste disposable baggies. All rules will be monitored and enforced. I-90 Speedway reserves the right to ask the pet to leave the grounds if we deem unsafe or nuisance to other patrons.
What accommodations do you have for handicapped fans?
Handicapped accessible parking, restrooms and seating are available at the I-90 Speedway. All handicapped patrons are allowed a free pass with one assistant.
What To Bring: The entire family and friends, lawn chairs or blanket for terraced hillside seating or cushions or stadium seats for backstretch seating, Casual attire is the word at the speedway. Just remember, you are out in the outdoors, so dress accordingly for the elements. The races can get loud at times so if you have sensitive hearing, ear plugs or ear muffs may be the ticket for you. We sell ear plugs at the souvenir stand at a minimal cost.
