I-90 Speedway
Hot Laps with Hot Rod (May 2, 2019)
Hi again everyone!!! Yesterday, I brought you the "Reader's Digest" version of Hot Laps. Now, I will bring you the "War and Peace" version with more details on these items and more. So grab a beverage and a snack, because here we go.
Test and Tune is CANCELLED for Saturday. We really wanted to have this event, but with all the moisture and the ground being so saturated, driving on the parking area, pit area, etc would make huge ruts in the ground and probably get people stuck. We know a lot of drivers wanted to "shake 'em down" but unfortunately that can't happen this Saturday.
The Car Show is still on, but will be shortened. The Car Show will be from 10am to 1pm in the Pizza Ranch, Sunshine Foods and The GOAT Bar and Grill parking lot in Hartford. We would LOVE to see a lot of cars and fans there. As an incentive for drivers to bring their cars, any driver that displays their car at the show and comes out to volunteer work day at the track afterwards on Saturday will receive 1 FREE Pit Pass for the season opener on May 11th.
Even though the grounds will be too wet for cars, we will be having volunteer work days again this weekend. Saturday, which is supposed to be a beautiful day, will start at 9am and Sunday will begin at 11am. We have a lot to do and we would sure appreciate any help you fans can give us. We have work to do inside our buildings and outside as well so there will be plenty of variety of things to do. We can not express to you how much we appreciate the past help and anything you can assist with this weekend. WE ARE SOOOO CLOSE to race day, I can smell the cars and hear the thunderous roar of those four-wheeled beasts.
We will be having a meeting for employees that have already been hired and people who would like to help us this season. Whether you can work every night or just a few, we need you. We need at least 15 more people to work with us at the track, including front gate ticket sales, front gate ticket takers, concessions, scoring and security, so apply now or come to our meeting at the track. This meeting for people who are or are interested in the ticket box office or ticket takers and concessions will be at 11am Saturday and track officials will meet at 2 p.m. If you have not done so, fill out the application that is attached here and bring it to the meeting. http://www.i90speedway.com/about/ If you can not attend, fill it out, scan it and send it to racingrod1@hotmail.com and I'll be sure to get it to the right place. We are going to have a lot of fun and there is a lot of excitement at the track this season. Come be a part of it.

I want to reiterate how this program works. For an investment of $100, you will have your name on a PERMANENT wall at the track, naming you as an "I-90 Speedway Bleacher Backer." We have attached a couple pictures of an example of what the wall will look like. My cousin Kris Bickett lives in Milwaukee and is a season ticket holder for the Milwaukee Brewers. This is a portion of the wall inside Miller Park that names season ticket holders. Our Bleacher Backer wall will be identical to this. Also, for each $100 investment, you will also get a raffle ticket which gives you a chance to win a brand new Kawasaki Mule 4-wheeler ATV, valued at nearly $13,000. The more you purchase, the better your chances to win this awesome machine, AND your space on the wall will be bigger. The spot on the wall for $100 will be 2" by 4" and will have your information on it that you provide. We had a gentleman purchase 8 of them to put together into an 8" by 8" square for more visibility and will put his business name on the space. We have also had some people ask, but we will not be able to put logos on these spaces, script only. It could be your name, your family's name, your business name, "In memory of" or "In honor of", etc. Plus, if you are a business, it is considered advertising so it's fully tax deductible. If you do live in this area, we will have them on sale at the Car Show this Saturday, or you can stop by any of our local retailers, which include James Valley Landscape Solutions and Garden Center in Mitchell, The GOAT Bar and Grill and Pizza Ranch of Hartford, Classic Convenience stores in Colton, Baltic and Madison, Dakota Express of Madison, The Corner Pub of Sioux Falls, Furby's Auto Repair in Sioux Falls, Frankman Motor Company Service Department in Sioux Falls and the service department at Cadillac of Sioux Falls. Buy your Bleacher Backer chances before your friends buy the winning ticket.
A lot of people have asked about tickets and ticket prices. We now have the ability to purchase tickets on line, thanks to My Race Pass. Just click on this link http://www.i90speedway.com/schedule/ and get your advance tickets. Ticket prices are as follows: For Paramount Racing Series shows featuring the Justice Fire and Safety Racesaver Sprint Cars, the T&R Contracting Late Model Street Stocks, the Great Western Bank B-Mods and the Lawn and Snow, LLC Hobby Stocks are $12 for adults, ages 13-17 are $6 and 12 and under are free. For special shows like the Property Solutions of America MSTS 360s and Tri-State Late Models, tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for 13-17. 12 and under are always free and a pit pass is $32. $30 for track and $2 for MedStar race rescue.
Speaking of MedStar Race Rescue, we are delighted to have MedStar Race Rescue and Ambulance Service at I-90 Speedway for the 2019 racing season. There is NO ONE better at keeping racers, team members and fans safe and well attended than Jay Masur and his team. Our ownership and management team is and will work very hard to have the best and be the best and MedStar is certainly the best.
